The National Counselor Examination (NCE) is an exam that tests your knowledge of entry-level counseling. In many US states, you need to pass this exam to get a counselor license.
The exam is run by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). The NBCC provides information about the NCE on its website at www.nbcc.org/exams/nce.
A pass on the NCE exam or a pass on the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is also a requirement for National Certified Counselor (NCC) certification.
